In the family since 1790
OUR STORY

From working farm to wedding barn
TWO HUNDRED YEARS IN THE MAKING
These barns have stood at the heart of the farm since around 1790.
For most of that time they were the centre of a working farm, until the 80s, when the land stopped being farmed and the barns were left to the weather.
A few hard Scottish winters later, they were past their best and in need of some love. So we gave it to them.
Over the last eight years we've repaired the barns by hand, keeping their rustic character while bringing them back to life as a place for people to celebrate.
They've been in the family since the day they were built, and this is their next chapter... open, for the first time, to you.
The people behind the barns
A FAMILY OF FIVE, AND A BORDER TERRIER

We're a family of five, and The Border Barn is ours to share.
Nicky and Henry run the venue day to day, with plenty of help from the rest of the family... and a Border Terrier who considers himself head of welcomes.
We feel lucky to open our doors and hand this place over to the people who come to celebrate here.
When you book, you're not dealing with a faceless venue. You're dealing with us.
